What is a waitlist?

When a Housing Authority is accepting applications, they are eventually put in order according to the Housing Authority guidelines.  This is called a wait list.  At this point the applicant must now wait until the Housing Authority has a voucher available to issue them.  The amount of time a person/family must wait to be issued a voucher depends on the available vouchers the Housing Authority has to issue from time to time.
